In November 2002, the Pulitzer prize-winning
Suzan-Lori Parks sat down and committed to
writing a play a day for the next 365 days. The
world premiere of this play cycle will be
performed as a yearlong national festival
simultaneously in major cities and on college
campuses around the country. This festival will
create the largest theater collaboration in U.S.
History.
Wesleyan will participate in this festival from
February 5th to 11th of 2007, performing a week
of Parks' plays. The plays will serve as
centerpiece to a week-long performance festival
that will showcase Wesleyan and Middletown life
and culture as "daily theatre." This week will
include performances, lectures, discussions, and
workshops---all free and open to the general
public.
